In his last role at HPE, he was responsible for $2.4B in annual revenue and led a team of 65 individual contributors and managers.

Al left HPE in 2008 to lead sales at Dasher Technologies, which at the time had $27M in annual sales.  Under Chien’s leadership, Dasher sales grew to $175M in fiscal 2019 with a 10X increase in net profit over that timeframe.  Services revenue increased 12X during that same period.  Dasher expanded competencies from being HPE-centric to establishing Platinum certification levels with over 30 vendors and representing nearly 100 manufacturers.  He was promoted to President and CEO in 2017, a role he served until his departure in 2020.

Al holds an BSEE from UCLA and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

He is a devoted husband to wife Kim, father to sons, Chip and Kyle, and doting grandfather to Lyla and Emmy. He is surrounded by the love and support of a tremendous friend group that evolves around his passion for golf. He’s played 40 of the top courses in the US and 23 in the World.
